Family Literacy Fair 2015
Local Home Girl 2014
"We had the pleasure of working with Marissa from The Intuitive Kitchen for one of our events. She did a terrific 'Garden-to-Table' cooking workshop and lunch for our Summer Session. Our guests created a delicious menu while learning several easy, healthy recipes. Marissa’s style is authentic and hands-on. Her enthusiasm in the kitchen was infectious and our participants were engaged, entertained and educated in a fun and inclusive way..." -Ana Olson
Elana Karoly wanted to give teens help: personal development, inspiration to pursue dreams and tools to execute confidence-building projects... Check-out this growing Escondido-based organization! I was happy to support the mission and did a cooking demo at this fundraiser.
Elana Karoly wanted to give teens help: personal development, inspiration to pursue dreams and tools to execute confidence-building projects... Check-out this growing Escondido-based organization! I was happy to support the mission and did a cooking demo at this fundraiser: Autumn Roasted Roots for a beautiful "Cali-cool" day...
I mean, who wouldn't want to participate in anything TED-flavored?? Not me! I was delighted to be a part of an always-inspiring event like this and had a blast making some tasty, healthy smoothies for the curious attendees...
Take advantage of the local opportunity to get your intellectual on!
This was one of my favorite events I've had the pleasure to be involved in: great fun, lovely, gracious guests, cool venue, wonderful hosting organization! It would behoove you to know about LHG and participate in one of their fantastic, hands-on events! We made and enjoyed a tasty Garden Lunch...
Not only is it just an awesome name AND a sweet, kid-rockin' band BUT it's also a really cool Family Festival, focused on their biggest little fans: children. Art, music, vendors, all kid-centric stuff! Make sure to take your kiddos the next time Hullabaloo comes around...
Big D.I.Y. w/T.I.K. Fun: Make-Your-Own Snack Mix! Good and Good-for-Ya'!!
Can you really build an event around a legume?? The answer is "Yes." This annual gustatory event is a bean-infused slice of SoCal history and the results are delicious! In addition to a creative Cook-Off, the fair has interesting and fun activities that harken back to a simpler, albeit rough-'n-tumble, time...
I even made a beany batch of MJ's Market Bars for the occasion! :)
I did a T.I.Kids Cooking Tent for this cool event and had a great time doing it, showing kids and families some easy recipes for homemade salad dressings and, boy, did these young'uns gobble-up the greens! How satisfying to see a bunch of kiddos excited about salad...
I ADORE this organization!! "Emily Moberly for Prez!"
It was an impulsive, crazy dream: two busy "mom-preneurs" had a beautiful vision of an event celebrating moms, a day of "healthy indulgence" featuring great food, music, art, vendors, massage, mini-workshops...but with only a few, short weeks to make it happen! "WHA??" Well, we did it, me and my pal Amanda DeKoening, hoping to repeat it as a recurring thing, just need to decide when we'll have the time, again... ;)
Special Events & Cool Orgs. (folks who I've worked with)
"...Marissa was accommodating, affordable and created a lovely, easy menu for us to help prepare and enjoy. She is easy to work with and cooking with her, sipping wine and listening to Italian music in the background felt like hanging-out with a friend..." -Erin Jackson
T.I.K. Around Town
Always a good time: food, music, FUN! I just love helping people to eat well and learn some new tricks. This is just a wonderful way to celebrate Life with friends and family and the best part is that we make it just the way YOU like it... See Sample Menus.
Any time, anywhere, well, almost... ;) I've done cooking demonstrations for lots of occasions but one thing is for sure: it's an awesome way to do some tasting, get some inspiration and often raises awareness and support for cool causes, including the Farmers' Market "thing". I learned so much working at them for the time that I did, meeting amazing people on both sides of the operation... Could it be just the thing for Your next event? ;)
Talk about philanthropy: Lynda "Sunshine" West is walking the talk, man! One fundraising event after another, she's the real deal, connecting folks and rallying to support great causes. This event has morphed into the "Lemon Zest & Garlic Fest", still benefitting worthy causes, still rejoicing in giving...
When Coar to Soar and T.I.K. sponsored a kids tent for this event, all kindza' lemony fun ensued!
So many lessons, so little time; I've enjoyed teaching classes to various groups and find it quite satisfying to reach the masses in an easy and affordable public format. I'm looking forward to continuing with live action as well as offering video/webcasts in the future, always interested in hearing ideas for more classes! ;)
